As a tourism center for the Thailand’s eastern seaboard and one of the region’s premier beach resorts well-served by an extensive range of facilities of international standards, Pattaya is a complete destination with land and marine attractions within easy access. Many of the festivals and events listed on Thailand’s official calendar of annual events are traditional Buddhist or folk festivals, the date of which is either determined by the Buddhist lunar calendar and waxing and waning moon.
The men’s marathon Lawrence Kiptoo Saina was first to cross the finish tape in front of Central Pattaya Beach in a time of 2:21:03, exactly 3 minutes ahead of second placed Mohammed Abduh Bakhet from Qatar who had a titanic battle for the runner-up spot with Teruto Ozaki of Japan, just pipping the far east Asian athlete on the line. Underwater World Pattaya, visitors are taken on a “voyage to the bottom of the sea”, which begins at the sandy beaches and shallow rock pools at the water’s edge. From here, you descend into a pedestrian tunnel, passing brightly colored corals and all kinds of exotic ocean-dwellers along the way. The tunnel is 100 meter long and is made of 6.4 centimeter thick acrylic. It allows you to witness the homes of great shoals of fish, prowling predators and a host of other creatures that inhabit the ocean depths.

The acrylic underwater passageway is divided into 3 zones. The first part is the “Reef Zone”. This features coral reef and an abundance of colorful fish that are relaxing to watch. The next zone is the “Sharks and Rays”, displaying sharks, sting rays, ray sharks and turtles among other creatures from the sea. The last is the “Shipwrecks Zone” featuring various kinds of fish that are edible.

Pattaya Marathon 2009 will be start on Pattaya Beach Road Soi 4, On Sunday July 19,2009
The Pattaya International Marathon is one of the most famous marathons in Thailand that is organized yearly. Every year, there are many runners participating from various countries. In all, there are three races ; the full marathon (42 Km), the half marathon (21 Km) and the quarter marathon (10 Km).

Pattaya 2009 Countdown, With Live Concert by many singers from all music record companies in Thailand and watching beautiful Fireworks. On 25th – 31st December 2008 till 1 January 2009. Pattaya city uses up Bt22 million baht for Countdown Party 2009 at Bali Hai pier. Like every other year, there will be many Thai artists and entertainers of Thailand joining the year-end party to countdown for a Happy New Year 2009.

The event proper will be an unprecedented, marathon seven-day extravaganza, which will be telecast worldwide. The radical new-style New Year celebrations will continue annually in the same vein and will, it is hoped, reached a world-class standard.
